Anyone who has ever read a book by Cari Silverwood knows this won’t be a cheery romantic tale, in fact, you can be prepared for some moments that may make you cringe. That’s how good Cari is at crafting her dark, gothic post apocalyptic worlds.
Cyn wakes up in a precarious position and has to fight her way away from the one called the Ghoul Lord, a truly horrifying creature who’s come to the planet to destroy it.
She ends up running into a large man, who has been modified to carry nanomachines to help in the fight to save Earth. He is a Beast horde. Although Cyn drives him crazy,he decides to help her, after all, someone he loves is still trapped with the Ghoul lord. But the escape doesn’t go free of problems. And the GhoulLord certainly isn’t letting her get away.
There are less outright power play scenes here, but they are certainly not gone.Vargr is most definitely a powerful, dominant and hot male and he makes Cyn submit to his authority. Not a bad place if I say so myself.
